early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable

between my sophomore and junior years of high school I went to europe with a state band (and choir, but I wasn't a part of the choir). when we met as a group for the first time, our director (or someone, it was seriously like 10 years ago...like I can remember that far back) was telling us the rules we were to follow during our time in the states rehearsing, and also on tour. whoever it was gave us the sage advice, "early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable." I think that my subconscious was yelling this phrase at me this morning...

this semester has been pretty busy for me. and, unfortunately for me, every day has officially started at either 8am or 9am, with exceptions for cancellations, rescheduling, and clinicals that sometimes started earlier or later, everyday in my typical week starts at 8 or 9. so I went to bed last night knowing that I wanted to show up to school early to sign up for a final evaluation with my clinical instructor. I set the alarm for 6:40am, and then when it went off, pushed snooze until 7:15, figuring I still had enough time to shower and leave if I didn't do my hair. I left my apartment in a rush, and already knowing I was going to be 5-10 minutes late (darn those nice warm showers). I stopped quickly by my instructors office to sign up for the time I wanted, and rushed to the classroom - just to find it empty. I was only 7 minutes late, and sometime this class starts at 10 after the hour, so I called my friend to find out if we were meeting in another classroom. she informed me that class starts and 9, not at 8.

in other news, yes the semester is almost over. I officially have 4 days of class (or 18 hours if you prefer), 2 clinical final evaluations, one final paper, one extra credit paper, three self-evaluation papers, and two theory finals before I am officially done. then one more semester before I have to actually be an adult and get a job. yikes!
and for everyone who is dying to see another picture of my cute niece, here you go. my mom called me one day to say that she was holding ady. I could hear her cooing, so I said something about how cute she sounded. my mom promptly put the phone to ady's face, and spencer took a picture. and yes, I am actually talking to her on the other end...
