day two

day two was more building of the frame. the boys haven't done this before, so they've gotten a lot of advice on the best design, so they've altered it a little bit every day. I also asked them to seal the wood that isn't treated, so that's how they spend most of the morning.

and by the afternoon they got started on building the frame for the stairs.


my neighbor actually came over and told them that he thought the deck looked pretty good. he said something like, "we've been thinking about building one too. maybe you boys might want to do it? we'll talk when you're done with this one." he also might have them build their fence, when they're done with mine and know how much work goes into building everything.

I spent the day cleaning, making more cookies, and updating the blogs. that's right, both of them. in case you were all wondering what happened to the cards...the wait is over. :)
